All about the GDAŃSK CITY TOUR.

For centuries, Gdansk was a Polish window to the world. This cosmopolitan spirit reflected in the architecture and  history makes this city an incredible place to visit. Discover the impressive monuments of the past glory such as Golden Gate and  medieval Arthur’s Court.  See St Mary’s Cathedral, the largest brick church in the world and find out where the famous physicist and inventor  Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit was born.

The tour starts in front of the Golden Gate, one of the most notable tourist attractions of the city – a fine example of Dutch mannerism. You will also discover the Upland Gate learning about the Royal Way. Strolling down the charming narrow streets of the compact old town, you will visit the birth place of a great scientist Daniel Fahrenheit, inventor of the  mercury-in-glass thermometer  and  Fahrenheit scale. Later on you will be amazed by the size of St Mary’s Cathedral, enormous gothic construction and a clear symbol of the city’s importance and wealth during the Golden Age of Hanseatic League. Then you will admire the representative Arthurs’s Court, the prestigious meeting point of rich merchants and burghers.

You will finish the tour walking down the Mariacka Street known for its numerous Ambar galleries to the Big Crane, an amazing wooden construction from XV century, used to transfer cargoes and to put up masts on ships in the time of the greatest economic prosperity.
