Frankfurt is one of the most cosmopolitan and international cities in Germany. It houses several financial institutions and the headquarters of the European Central Bank, which is why it is sometimes called “Bankfurt”.
Our free tour of Frankfurt begins at An der Hauptwache Square, next to the entrance of the S-Bahn station. During our 2.45-hour tour we will visit emblematic places such as: the birthplace of the most brilliant German poet Johann Wolfgang Goethe and the Church of Saint Paul where the first freely elected German parliament met.
We continue to Frankfurt’s Altstadt (Old Town), the charming district full of half-timbered buildings to admire the Imperial Cathedral, Römer Town Hall and Römerberg Square. The free tour concludes at the picturesque pedestrian bridge, where you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Main River.
From there, you can decide to see the old Jewish district with the story of the spectacular fortune of the Rothschild family and the tragic end of the Jewish community in the Nazi era or cross the bridge and visit the museum quarter located on the other side of the Main river.
