Tour Itinerary

We will begin our free walking tour of Wroclaw, known as “the Polish Venice”, in the charming Rynek: the Market Square. From this central place we will go to the banks of the Oder River, on whose banks we will discover the exciting history of its great island monuments.

Once we reach the banks of the Oder we will visit the main river islands of Wroclaw. To access the islet of Wyspa Piasek we will cross one of the most popular footbridges in the old town. It is the Most Tumski, known as the Bridge of Lovers. There we will observe the dozens of padlocks that couples who decide to seal their eternal love at this point deposit in this place.

After knowing the history of the bridge, and the romantic legend that gives it its name, we will contemplate the architecture of the different civil and religious monuments that make up Wyspa Piasek Island. Next to it lie the islands of Wyspa Młyńska, Wyspa Słodowa and Wyspa Bielarska. We will cross the different bridges that interconnect all of them to review the trajectory of these tiny floating lands, which have suffered several floods over the centuries.

The river islands of the Oder are not only a claim for their history, but also for their lively area of bars and terraces. We will take a walk next to these establishments (we will discover which are the most fashionable) before ending this free tour of the islands and bridges of Wrocław, returning to the historic center of the city.
